The Quad Cities is a metropolitan area located along the Mississippi River in the U.S. states of Iowa and Illinois. It is comprised of five cities: Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa, and Rock Island, Moline, and East Moline in Illinois. The Quad Cities has been known for its strong manufacturing industry, specifically in heavy machinery and agriculture equipment, chiefly John Deere and Arconic (formerly Alcoa). The area also offers cultural attractions, including museums and theaters, as well as outdoor recreation opportunities along the Mississippi River.
